Why linocuts? Linocuts has graphicality, an immediate reaction. I also like the sensation of gouging. I handprint them in my studio. The edition is pulled out on block, rubbing back of the paper to transfer the ink. Every single print has variances, natural uniqueness. Given sizes are actual print images. With framing is 12x16 or more. Framed as ordered.
What can I tell you about my art? I think as people we lead similar inner lives. We all go through the same feelings. This is what unites us. We may be in different points in our lives but we can relate because inside we are the same. I'm not trying to make the world smarter through my art. I'm trying to illuminate what it is to be human. What is personal is universal. I print in black and white for the graphic immediacy of the image. It reads quickly. I think that this helps communicate the emotional content I'm trying to communicate.
