I am working in expressive-impressionistic style. I love oil paints, pastels and acrylic on canvas or on gesso board. I use old artistic technology, love bright color and contrast. My oils have multiple layers of paint, like stories behind the scenes. Some compositions are coming from cosmos or dreams, if you will.
I studied chemistry of artistic paints at the Technical University of Kaunas (Lithuania). After graduating, I was working in the capital of Lithuania Vilnius, where I met some very interesting people. Ancient city inspired me with more than 50 Baroque and Gothic churches, small streets and old history. In1978 I entered into the Art School of Drawing, Painting and Sculpture. After graduating in 1982 I started to paint old town in my own art studio. In 1990 I held my first solo exhibition. One of my artwork collections can be seen hanging in the Birzai museum. Since 1996 I have lived in Chicago, where I continue to paint, participate in exhibitions and have my art fans around the world.
